Comment Policy

The whole point of having an interactive website is for the readers to have the ability to communicate with the author as well as with other readers.

For the most part, I love receiving comments from readers; even those comments that offer different points of view from my own. I try to respond to each comment posted quickly, and I publish almost all comments submitted.

I am not a person who only publishes positive and complimentary feedback. When I started this process I was aware that people may not agree with my point of view and would possibly have feedback that is not positive or complimentary. And that’s fine. We are all entitled to our opinions and thankfully we are free to express them. I have gotten a few comments from readers who have respectfully disagreed with statements I’ve made or articles I’ve written and I have published them and responded to them. I appreciate the time people take to read my articles, and if they do disagree with me, I appreciate the time they take to respectfully let me know.

What I do not appreciate are comments that are intended to be hurtful or that blatantly disrespect or attack me personally. I will not publish or respond to these types of comments; they will be deleted immediately. Although a good deal of what I present is my own personal and professional opinion, my opinion is based on experience and research. I do a great amount of research on the material I write and I always provide links to that research to support my opinions when appropriate. There are ways to disagree and start a conversation without being rude or insulting. If you read something I write and have a different point of view, you are welcome to express that point of view in a constructive way. This is meant to be a positive space where people can give and get information, and interact without the fear of being insulted by people; most of whom hide under the name “anonymous”.

Comments posted by “spam-mentors” will also be deleted and reported as spam. If you are a reader with a legitimate comment and you have a blog or website you would like to link to, there is a field in which you can put your link that is separate from the actual comment field. Entering your link in the appropriate field will link your name to your site. Please do not put your link in the comment itself.

So please keep the comments coming, but please keep them legitimate and constructive. Thanks, and again thanks for reading :)
